The whole truth about the Canadian Sphinxes (part 2)

The cat’s bedding and favorite heating spots, such as batteries, are also brown. Brown spray on the walls, brown chairs. If you don’t bathe the cat for a couple of weeks, then you can easily scare the children with it later. The inside of the ears due to the lack of fuzz-hairs – can be seen clearly. Brown sulfur from the ears will also have to be taken out every week – otherwise horror, horror …

Joy number 5: with the sphinx you will have to learn to love a cat in all its imperfections. These ordinary murziks look white and fluffy at any age – and on the sphinx skin you will most likely have to see one day: pimples, blackheads, warts, bloody scratches (cats often comb themselves to blood because there is no fur, and hunting is scratched with claws) . And the older the cat – the skin is more characteristic there. No, here, on the whole, there is nothing critical – with us people, the skin is also imperfect. But it is better to decide in advance for yourself whether you are ready for this flashy naturalness.

Regarding the “dog” character: if you need a dog character – get a dog. And the sphinxes are creatures in which not only there is no “doggy”, but also “feline” is not very pronounced. Running around the house, tail up, grabbing slippers, talking to the owner – this is not about the sphinx. You will only find out that he is still alive when you thunder in pots in the kitchen: the cat will come running to ask for food, the rest of the time he is unlikely to leave his house. To purr, flirt and put your ass in the palm of your hand – all these sphinxes know how and love, but with Lola I was increasingly overcome by the thought that she made contact only to warm herself on her knees. Man himself, as a thing in himself, was of little interest to her. But maybe so with all cats, I don’t know …

Health. I can’t say anything here, it’s probably better to dig the Internet and make some kind of disease statistics for the sphinxes … But I had to sterilize Lol: I was not interested in the kittens, but I didn’t want to feed the cat with hormones. And when they did the sterilization, the veterinarian said that it had to be done for a long time – the ovaries were completely covered with cysts …

A year later, in this mode, I realized that I could not stand it. There was no “joy of communication” with the animal, but it was necessary to serve the cat in full: expensive food (she ate only raw meat, sour milk and wet canned food – there was nothing to chew dry food), cleaning-washing-washing walls from brown fat, gas attack every time the cat decided to poop. The incessant hungry cries. I cowardly wrote on the Internet that I was giving the cat away. There were many letters and calls: but the fact that everyone was very interested in whether the cat was sterilized or could still give birth was alarming. Then an unknown woman wrote to me, who said that she recognized the cat from the photo and knew her and her former mistress. She said that the cat was at least 8 years old, that she had repeatedly changed owners, that she had very good bloods, and for that she paid – each of the owners mercilessly used her. I begged that I leave the cat or look for her owners from acquaintances. She herself refused to take a cat: her full house.

Something clicked in my head, I deleted the ad and decided that I would drag this cross to the end. To offer a cat to friends – I would rather shoot myself than “reward” someone with Lola. Then my husband found work in the Czech Republic – I left after him and gave the mother-in-law cat, which, thank God, agreed to take care of her. Do not convey in words how grateful I am to her for this. I saw how hard it was for Lola and how generously she got along with this difficult creature … The mother-in-law has a huge heart and this is not her first cat – and only thanks to her Lola lived her days in conditions of perfect care. Although for NI it was not easy …

A few months ago, Lola died of cancer. According to my calculations – at the age of 15, or even 17 years. That it was cancer became clear only at the most critical stage. In recent months, Lola was seriously ill, very depleted, veterinarians fooled their heads: they assured us that it was an inflamed pancreas, they prescribed antibiotics. Woe-doctors, as it turned out …

After Lola, I have a terrible fear of running into a problem animal again. I was so terribly disappointed, afraid of pitfalls, as I recall, I would tremble. I could not even imagine that a cat of unearthly beauty could turn into such a complicated pet. Children ask for a dog or cat, and I have goosebumps. What if you set up again? ) I can’t get rid of the animal – is it a cross for 10-15 years, or how many cats and dogs live there?

Do you have any pets? Are you happy with them? Is it even possible? )))
