Canadian Sphynx, breed description

Photo: Canadian Sphinxes. Russian Federation

Feline “butterfly” in the fold. When you first see the Canadian Sphinx, the first thing that strikes is the look of the lemon-shaped eyes, and huge, wing-like butterflies, ears.

Tactile contact with this cat causes a storm of emotions. To the touch, the skin of these cats resembles the skin of a small child. The body temperature of cats is higher than human (38 – 38.5 degrees), and due to the lack of hair, the difference is felt even more.

Sphinxes have a very unusual look – deep, meaningful, understanding. They very finely feel the owner’s mood, sympathize, if he is sad, help if the owner is sick: they lick, lie down nearby, raising the mood with their purrs. Canadians’ love for their owner is immense, and he does not tire of proving it.
Sphinx loves to hug and kiss, especially when it misses the owner. Meeting him in the evening from work, he gets up on his hind legs, asking to take him in his arms. The sphinx mind is also amazing. These are very clever animals that can take care of themselves if the owner has no time at the moment.

The body of the Canadian is medium in size, muscular, roundish, strong. At the same time, the skeleton is relatively elegant. The chest is wide, massive, the stomach is round. The limbs, too, have a graceful structure, but the muscles are strong. Paws are oval, with long fingers. The tail is long, thin, whip-shaped, without hair, but a brush on the tip (lion’s tail) is acceptable.

The head is small, wedge-shaped, not much longer than wide, with prominent cheekbones. Profile – with the transition. The neck is medium muscular.

Ears are very large, widely set, completely devoid of internal “brushes”.

The skin on the body can only have a minimal, invisible fluff. On the forehead, neck and limbs are folds. The muzzle may have short pubescence
