The unusual appearance of the sphinx entails several features that the owner needs to know about
Sphinxes are a group of rocks, which include the Canadian, Don and St. Petersburg sphinxes (the latter are also called Peterbolds). All of them are extremely similar to each other, however, the Canadian sphinxes are considered the most popular. So, when we say “sphinx”, we have in mind precisely this North American breed.

In 1966, in a Canadian province of Ontario, a normal kitten was born with an ordinary cat. In most cases, this event is considered the beginning of modern hairless breeds. But, in fairness, we note that all attempts to establish a new breed failed, because, for various reasons, it died out by the mid-70s.
In 1978, again in Otario, 3 bald kittens were found in an ordinary street cat. Attempts to breed the hairless cat breed have resumed, and this time have been successful.
Now no one will say for sure, but perhaps naked kittens in Ontario were born before, but it was these three who were taken by kind people to be lucky. They wanted to cure them of “depriving”, but soon realized what kind of kittens they were, and transferred them to “professional” hands. Continue reading
